Valentine’s Day is coming up…please don’t take it for granted. Date nights are so important for fostering a strong connection between you and your partner. We tend to get so caught up in our daily routines that our relationships can easily get neglected. That’s why it’s so important to prioritize date nights.
Having a regular date night will give you and your partner the opportunity to reconnect and spend quality time together. Date nights can help to strengthen your relationship and create a deeper connection. It doesn’t have to be a major or fancy event. The important thing is that you and your partner are taking the time to be together and engage in meaningful conversations.
If you’re in Denver, here’s a list of my favorite date nights for 2023. If you’re not in Denver, I’ll give you the words to google to to find something similar in your area.
Meow Wolf
Ahhhh…What do I say about this place? It’s like a children’s museum, but for adults. It’s a fun, thought-provoking, creative, immersive wonderland of weird stuff. That’s the best way I can explain it which means you’ll have to check it out for yourself.
PRO-TIP: Go during a weekday if you can.
Last year my husband and I had a day date at Meow Wolf. Because we went during the day, we avoided all the traffic. There were just enough people there, but not too many that it felt smothering.
If you’re not in Denver, try googling “immersive museum” or “immersive art’.
Cook Street
Oh! This was so much fun. My husband and I got this as a Christmas present and we weren’t quite sure what we were getting into. You arrive to a beautiful spread of appetizers and a drink (included in the cost). You’re assigned a coxy table that helps create an intimate ambiance.
After you’ve had second to settle in, the cooking class starts. You learn simple techniques for yummy meals. We got to eat the appetizer while the main course was cooking. It was well thought out and such a different experience.
If you’re not in Denver, try googling “cooking classes” or go to Cook Street and sign-up for one of their virtual cooking classes.
An Immersive Pop-Up Bar
My husband and I had no idea what to expect when we signed up for the Alice In Wonderland pop-up bar. It’s like a theatre takes over an old bar and temporarily recreates it into an immersive experience. It only lasts for about 1.5 hours. Every staff member is in character and plays along with the theme.
It’s a little but like a play, but there are riddles you need to solve in order to get your very creative drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). There’s a story line, and you’re a part of it.
If you’re not in Denver, try googling “immersive pop-up bar”.
PS-The website for Hidden Denver also has SO many other fun date night ideas!
The Selfie Museum
I know! It sounds ridiculous…and it is. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t fun! Spend a few hours (or maybe 1) being goofy. Basically, it’s 1 giant room with a few rooms off of it. There’s dozens of different backdrops and scenes for you to get weird pictures that you’ll never be able to use, but will give you some great laughs.
Be prepared to get creative and be silly, and you’ll have a blast.
If you’re not in Denver, try googling “selfie museum”.
Upstairs Circus
I LOVE THIS PLACE. It’s like a paint and sip class, except the things you can do aren’t just limited to painting. You and your partner can pick a craft or something to build. They advertise that it’s a DIY workshop at a bar. There’s something for everyone. This is an upbeat and happy vibe!
If you’re not in Denver, try googling “diy workshop or paint and sip”.
Axe Throwing
What?!? I know! And yes, it’s as awesome as it sounds. It’s like darts, but with real live axes. If you’re new to axe throwing, don’t worry, they give you lesson with different techniques so you don’t kill yourself. There’s different games you can play, just with darts. This was an absolute blast. I left feeling like an All American BAD ASS!
Rent A Cabin
Ok, I know this one is technically cheating since it requires more than 1 night, but with so many great getaways nearby, I had to through it in. Check out this list of amazing cabins nearby!
It’s easy to get into the habit of not prioritizing date nights. Life can get so busy and hectic that it’s easy to forget to make time for your partner. But it’s essential to make sure that you’re taking the time to nurture your relationship. Date nights are the perfect opportunity to do that and are the perfect way to reconnect with your partner and keep the spark alive. They give you the opportunity to spend quality time together, show your appreciation for one another, and create a deeper connection.
