Depression Treatment
About You
First things first, let’s take a deep breath.
You have arrived and help is on the way.
I know that when you’re hurting (and it feels like it will never go away), your natural instinct is to make it stop.
You want things to be different.
You’re just so tired of these dark days…always hoping that tomorrow will be better. It never is. You don’t like yourself…at least not like this. Nothing seems to excite you. You can’t concentrate and your sense of purpose is…well, non-existent at this point. And the worst part is that you can’t talk to anyone because you’re tired of being a burden on your friends and family. What are they are going to do anyway? You hate this, but no matter how hard you try, you just can’t pull yourself up. The heaviness is always there.
Let’s Make It Better.

Why is this so hard?
If you’re struggling with depression, it can feel like the emptiness has taken over your life and you no longer have control over how you feel. To make matters worse, there’s so many misconceptions out there about depression that can make you feel even more alone and misunderstood.
We live in a society that has stigmatized mental illness and made people who suffer from it feel as if they’re weak or defective.
What people often fail to realize is that
depression is just as real as a physical ailment, and no one chooses to be depressed.
But even for those who understand that depression isn’t something you choose, it’s still difficult to explain.
Everyone feels down and sad every now and then. When you’re depressed, however, those emotions are more intense and more frequent. Depression can feel like a dark hole, blending one day with the next. It can be difficult to go through life feeling hopeless, helpless, or worthless on a regular basis. But whether you’re clinically depressed or just experiencing depression at times, there are strategies that can help.
Depression Treatment can help lift the weight of depression off your shoulders and help you begin to live a full life again.
Wake up your Inner Wisdom
How Therapy Can Help With Depression
Therapy can help people with depression by providing them with a listening ear, therapeutic insight, and guidance for making life changes. Unlike medication, which simply treats symptoms of depression, therapy can address what causes your depression in order to keep it from coming back.
At Knot Counseling, our approach is a little different than most. We don’t just help you talk through your problems; we help you move past them.
We offer:
1. Comfort
We’re here to talk to you when you feel down and out. We get it, when you have depression it’s like being stuck in a gray world. A place that seems lonely, cold, and dark. Sometimes you just want to someone to listen and be with you.
2. Patience
We take the time to get to know you, your unique situation and how we can use the strengths you already have to make your situation better. We move at pace that’s comfortable for you.
3. Pattern Identification
We’re skilled at helping you see what you can’t see on your own. Whether you have a loud inner critic, unprocessed trauma or distorted thoughts that are clouding your judgment, we help you connect the dots and form new ways of being.
4. Relief
Depression feels like you’re stuck in a hole. Our specialized depression treatment includes IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy) to help you climb out of that hole so that you can start seeing the light again.
5. Empowerment
How much time have you spent fighting your depression? We’ll teach you to lean into your depression and listen to it in a different way. Our counselors believe that positive change comes from recognizing and accepting thoughts and feelings, but not letting them control your behavior.
6. Direction
We understand firsthand how lost depression makes you feel. Therapy will help you find what’s important to you by uncovering your own unique gifts and learning to embrace value-based purpose.
Untangle YourThoughts
We believe that you already have the answers, but your inner wisdom has been buried under criticism, judgment, stress, and high expectations. Depression treatment helps you uncover your truth so you can live a more authentic life.
Questions?
Depression symptoms show up differently for everyone.
If you feel down most of the time and aren’t able to enjoy activities that used to be pleasurable, you may be depressed. Feelings of depression can vary from mild to severe and interfere with your ability to work, study, sleep or socialize.
Someone who is depressed usually has trouble thinking clearly and making decisions, sometimes believe things that are untrue (e.g., I’m a failure), and experiences changes in appetite, sleeping patterns or energy level.
These depression symptoms can make even simple tasks difficult or cause problems at work or school. For some people, depression goes away by itself; for others, it doesn’t go away but it can be treated effectively with psychotherapy or medication.
If you’re living with depression, you may start to question if therapy is working. This can be extremely frustrating and depressing in itself, making you feel even more stuck than when you first started treatment.
A common misconception is that if a person doesn’t improve quickly with depression treatment, then it was a waste of time or money. But most often, we need time to build rapport with our therapist and get into a good rhythm.
Our therapists are trained in many different approaches, and the more your therapist understands about you, the better equipped they’ll be to design a personalized plan tailored around your individual needs.
Once you and your therapist are in sync, our clients report almost immediate relief. The most important thing is to not give up and know that therapy does work; sometimes, just not as quickly as we would like it to.
