Neurofeedback Therapy
About You
It feels like you’re hitting a wall. You’re doing all the right things, but then, it’s like your brain resets itself and all your hard work disappears. You’ve tried therapy, working out, self-help books, and maybe even medication.
YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP!
You’re motivated to work on yourself, but you just don’t want another failed attempt at something.
IT FEELS LIKE YOU’RE SWIMMING AGAINST THE CURRENT.
Like there’s a force working against you. It seems so easy for other people…why can’t it be for you?

Maybe You’re Not The Problem
Maybe your brain has a different agenda. Depending on what you’ve been through in your life, or how you were built, your brainwaves may be working against you.
NEUROFEEDBACK THERAPY CAN HELP
With neurofeedback technology, we’ve been able to see things in your brain that might explain things like brain fog, stress, anxiety, depression and ADHD.
In fact, we’ve been able to see things like:
- Some people are more asleep when they're awake, then they are when they're asleep.
- Some people are stuck in permanent overwhelm.
- Some brains function worse the harder while trying to concentrate.
- Some brain waves seem to be more prone to addiction.
IF YOUR BRAIN COULD TALK, WHAT WOULD IT SAY?

What is neurofeedback therapy?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive to way to train your brain.
It’s a form of biofeedback and it trains your brainwaves to achieve a healthier state by rewarding you when your brain finds a balance. It’s kind of like exercise, but for your brain. For those psychology fanatics, remember Pavlov? Yes, well, neurofeedback therapy is a form of operant conditioning.
The goal of neurofeedback therapy
is to either turn down unwanted behaviors or reactions, or turn up desired states (attention, concentration, focus).
Neurofeedback helps the things that talk therapy can’t.
It translates brain waves to visual and/or auditory feedback to improve a certain brain functions. Sometimes the brain doesn’t function as well as it’s able to. For instance, sometimes it’s supposed to be calm, and it’s over-stimulated. And sometimes it’s supposed to be alert, and it’s under-stimulated. Sometimes the brain is able to correct itself…but when it doesn’t, dysregulation becomes the new normal. But this can be re-trained!
So how exactly does this work?
EEG is the method in which brain electrical activity is monitored. EEG readings can be used to confirm or rule out various conditions, such as, memory problems, stroke, seizure disorders, head injury, sleep disorders and more. It can also show alertness, attention, anxiety, and stress.

Using neurofeedback technology, electrical activity in the brain is monitored without anything invasive. Brain waves are translated to feedback in real time. The software provides users with instant feedback on the their mental state and the brain starts to instantly make corrections.
As the brain starts to improve, the software rewards the brain through auditory and/or visual stimulation. This learning process eventually helps the brain improve and sustain a certain function. Slowly the brain learns to engage in a new way as the feedback teach it to self-regulate and correct itself.

WE NOW HAVE REMOTE TECHNOLOGY!
Back in the day…like yesterday, if you wanted neurofeedback therapy, you had to go to your clinician’s office several times a week for your treatment. This prevented a lot of people from going because of time and money.
Thanks to new technology, there’s an easy-to-use, remote neurofeedback system that makes it possible to train anywhere using your smartphone, a wireless headset, and mobile games and videos.

You’ll have access to a therapist that will help you track your symptoms, as well a licensed neurofeedback clinician that will build your training and track your progress.
Getting Started Is Easy!
Once people understand you the benefits of neurofeedback therapy, they usually want to get started right away!
First:
You’ll meet with your therapist, or schedule a consultation. We’ll talk your goals and if neurofeedback therapy is a good fit for you and your symptoms. When we decide to move forward, we’ll order your remote neurofeedback kit.

Next:
Once you receive your equipment, you’ll meet your clinician to complete a brain map and get your all the information you need to start your training. You’ll get your results within a week and then you’re ready to start training.
Weekly:
Although you’ll have unlimited access to your training, we recommend a 3-4 times/week protocol to start. We typically start people on 1 protocol AND the digital sleeping pill which has been known to transform the way people sleep! Your clinician will be checking in with you regularly to make sure that your at-home training is running smoothly.

Monthly:
Our licensed neurofeedback clinician will track your progress, monitor your symptoms, and make changes to your protocols as needed. You’ll be getting a monthly progress report and check-in. Typical neurofeedback training lasts 3-4 months.
So, what’s all this stuff about brainwaves?
Good question! We love talkin’ brainwaves.
- GAMMA (Awareness): These brainwaves are dominant at times of intense focus, like when you're trying to solve a problem.
- BETA (Alertness): Beta waves are dominant during instances of problem-solving, judgment, decision-making, or any other focused mental activity.
- ALPHA (Relaxed): Alpha waves are typically dominant during meditative and mindful activities + represent non-arousal.
- THETA (Tired): These waves are dominant during "autopilot" states, or, in other words, instances of automatic tasks and sometimes in deep meditative states.
- DELTA (Sleep): Delta waves are amplified in deep meditation and dreamless sleep.

Neurofeedback Therapy Is Backed By Research
The proof is in the pudding! Research is proving that neurofeedback therapy is effective at treating disorders and improving overall wellness.
Questions? I got answers.
Absolutely! Neurofeedback is non-invasive and safe wave to change your brain patterns.
The electrodes placed on your head during your sessions are simply reading brain waves and measuring your brain activity.
Neurofeedback training may cause very mild side effects, like slight fatigue. However, these side effects are temporary and will pass quickly. Similar to how your body feels after putting in a hard workout at the gym!
During your session, you’ll wear a headset on your forehead and will attach an electrode with a water-soluble conductive paste. After that, you’ll play games or watch videos and receive real-time feedback regarding your performance. This will let you know whether your brainwaves are in the desired state or not. With time, you’ll be able to regulate your brainwaves and achieve your goals.
Neurofeedback has been used to alleviate symptoms for conditions such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, addiction, traumatic brain injuries, and more.
In addition, it has also been used to improve performance and enhance one’s overall wellbeing.
Sessions can last anywhere between 18 and 30 minutes. Your program is determined with your neurofeedback practitioner based on your brain map results and your desired outcomes. Most programs recommend on average of 40 to 50 sessions.
To get started with training, you’ll need:
• A training kit, complete with a Muse headset, external electrode, and conductive paste
• A device to train on, like a phone or tablet
• An internet connection
• A training program, customized by your mental health practitioner
• The desire to achieve your brain goals!
People with ADHD have shown significant improvement with neurofeedback therapy. For those reasons, we are providing neurofeedback as part of our ADHD therapy + ADHD coaching recommendations.
There’s a one-time equipment cost of $250. After that, you’re allowed unlimited training AND the revolutionary digital sleeping pill for only $497/month. Compare this to an average of $1200/month for in-person neurofeedback therapy. And the best part, you can do it all from the comfort of your own home.
We do! Call for details.
But, the real good news is that you can share the equipment among family members so you only have to buy one!
Ahhh….you could so many things. You can hang onto to it in case you want to use it again in the future. You can share it with a family member. Or, you can donate it to Knot Counseling so we can share clean and share the equipment with someone who’s struggling with the cost.
Or…you can download MUSE, a free app, and use your headset to mediate. It gives you real cool feedback!
